Compare electricity plans over a full year of real usage
Build a month-by-month electricity comparison that handles seasonal consumption, fixed fees, one-time costs, and uncertainty.
Compare two offers at your own kWh usage, including delivery and monthly fees.
Enter your usage in kWh and the supply rates in cents per kWh. Enter delivery as a shared variable rate, plus the shared monthly delivery fee. Each plan has its own monthly supplier fee. A change in supplier usually does not eliminate delivery charges. All defaults are illustrative, not current offers.
The formula is usage × (supply cents + delivery cents) ÷ 100 + supplier fee + delivery fee. At 800 kWh, Plan A at 10 cents with a $5 fee and Plan B at 11 cents with no supplier fee produce $85 and $88 in supply costs. Adding illustrative delivery of 5 cents per kWh and $12 per month produces totals of $137 and $140. The difference is $3 for that month.
Repeat with a low and high usage month. This model excludes taxes, conditional credits, minimum usage, tiered rates, cancellation fees, and demand charges. It assumes both plans have the same delivery tariff. A positive saving means Plan B costs less; a negative figure means Plan A costs less. Equal results are a tie, not a recommendation. Read the written contract and use the comparison guide before enrolling.
